Gershwin was the code name for Apple Computer's next-generation operating system that was proposed to follow Apple's failed Copland project for the Apple Macintosh platform.[1] Gershwin was supposed to be a true multi-tasking operating system[2] and feature a reentrant implementation of the Macintosh Toolbox.[3]
