[edit] Show History
Radio personality and songwriter Gerry House moved to Nashville and WSIX-AM in 1975. At that time, the radio station was located at the Channel 2 WKRN-TV (formerly WSIX-TV) studios on Murfreesboro Road.
In the early 80's, WSIX became the big FM country station we know it as today and moved to Nashville's famed Music Row. The 'House Foundation' was soon born. Al Voecks had been a television news anchor and reporter on WSM-TV, and was reporting news and hosting a talk show on WSIX-AM before becoming the House Foundation newsman. Duncan Stewart came to to Nashville from Boston in 1983 (through a friendship with the music director at WSIX), and he became House's Sports guy. Completing the Foundation was Paul Randall, who began in radio sales, and soon became House's co-presenter or 'sidekick' and traffic reporter. While Voecks and Stewart came in every half hour to do news and sports, Randall stuck around for the whole show and played off of House.
Paul Randall left in 1995 due to a serious illness, which he succumb to in 1998. His replacement was Mike Bohan, who had worked on WSMV Television as a weatherman, movie reviewer and feature reporter. Mike officially joined the House Foundation on June 19, 1995.
The show's producer is Richard Falklen, who replaced Devon O'Day in 2004. He hosts an entertainment news segment at 9:40am (CST), sometimes referred to as 'Twang Town Talk'.
When the team is away, and weekday mornings between 5 and 6am (CST), Chris Romer can be heard hosting "The Best of House".
