Gerontius

The name Gerontius, which is derived from a Greek word meaning old man, can refer to:
- Gerontius (general), an early 5th-century Roman general who was a key supporter of Constantine III, then rebelled against him
- The Dream of Gerontius (poem), a dramatic religious poem by Cardinal Newman.
- The Dream of Gerontius, an oratorio by Edward Elgar which sets Newman's poem to music.
- Gerontius, Metropolitan of Moscow (1473-1489).
- Gerontius Took, a Thain of the Shire (a hobbit) in the prehistory of J. R. R. Tolkien’s fictional Middle-earth.
