German national women's ice hockey team

The German national women's ice hockey team is controlled by Deutscher Eishockey-Bund. Germany is ranked 5th in the world, despite having 9 times more women hockey players than 5th place Russia. Germany's best finish was at the 2001 & 2005 Worlds, where they finished 5. Germany has 2,042 female players (2005). The head coach is Peter Kathan.
