German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence

Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI), lit. German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, is the largest AI research center in the world with its main locations in Saarbrücken and Kaiserslautern, Germany.
DFKI is a focussed on novel software technology based on AI. It conducts comissioned research in virtually all fields of modern AI, e. g. Image recognition and Pattern recognition, Knowledge management, intelligent Visualization and Simulation, Deduction and Multi-agent systems, Speech recognition, intelligent User interfaces, Business informatics and Robotics.
Companies like Microsoft, SAP and DaimlerChrysler are major shareholders.
DFKI lead the landmark national project Verbmobil aimed and automatic recognition and translation of colloquial language in everyday situations! Currently there are more than 60 projects going on at the institute.
