German 19th Panzer Division

19th Panzer Division was created from the 19th Infantry Division and was formed on the first of november 1940. In juli 1941 it went to the central sector of the eastern front until December 1942 when it was transferred south. It was pushed back though the Ukraine and Poland. It surenderd in Czechoslovakia in may 1945.

Commanders of the division:

1 November 1940 = General der Panzertruppen Otto von Knobelsdorff.

5 Januari 1942 = Generalleutnant Gustav Schmidt. (dies in battle on the 7th of August 1943)

7 August 1943 = Generalleutnant Hans Källner.

28 March 1944 = Generalleutnant Walter Denkert.

? May 1944 = Generalleutnant Hans Källner. (dies in battle on the 18th of April 1945 south of Brünn as commander of the XXIV Panzer-Korps)

22 March 1945 = Generalmajor Hans-Joachim Deckert.
