Gerardo Sofovich

Gerardo Sofovich, born in Buenos Aires in 1938 is an Argentine businessman, TV host and film director.
He was the mentor of TV programmes Polémica en el bar and La noche del Domingo. Sofovich also hosts Tiempo Límite XL, broadcast on América 2.
During the 1970s and 1980s he directed several picaresque films starred by comedians Alberto Olmedo and Jorge Porcel. Though critically panned, these movies were quite successful in reaching a large audience.
As a businessman, he has backed main spectacles on Buenos Aires' Corrientes Avenue.
His late brother Hugo Sofovich has a similar career as a film director and theater impresario.
