Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz), 1961. Guitarist. He began his apprenticeship with Rafael el Águila, and from his early days collaborated regularly with the Professor of Flamencology. He was only fourteen years old when he accompanied such singers as Tío Gregorio el Borrico, Terremoto and others. He has recorded accompanying the cante of Turronero, Pansequito, Indio Gitano... and as a concert guitarist. In his triple roles of composer, concert guitarist and accompanier, he has performed in diverse theater shows, the most notable being ¡Ay... Jondo!, and lately in Yerma, a work for which he has created a most beautiful music. He has acted at some of the most important festivals in the world. He is one of the most skilled guitarists, who has participated in experiences of jazz and other genres, his being one of the most convincing cases of integration of the jondo sound in other musical schemes, which has come to be known as fusion. He composes enormously rich and complex music, without losing the strength of the flamenco reference, and he performs himself with the technical capacity of a real virtuoso. Some of his creations are lavishly beautiful.
