Gerard Baker

Gerard Baker (born April 11, 1938 in New York) is a former American professional soccer player.
Despite being American, Baker played his whole career in the United Kingdom, although he was capped by the US several times. His first team was Larkhall Thistle for whom he played in the mid 1950s. Baker was transferred to Chelsea in June 1955, but shortly after that he moved back north of the border to St Mirren. In November 1960, he was sold to Manchester City but made a third and final move to Scotland when he signed for Hibernian. Baker went to Ipswich Town in December 1963 where he had the most productive period of his career, playing 151 times and scoring 66 goals, before moving in November 1967 to Coventry City. His career ended while he was on loan from Coventry to Brentford.
