Gerald Francis O'Keefe

Gerald Francis O'Keefe was born on March 30, 1918 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was first ordained a priest on January 29, 1994 in theRoman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. On May 5, 1961 he was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese and Titular Bishop of Candyba. He was ordained as the Titular Bishop of Candyba on July 2, 1961. On October 20, 1966 he was appointed the Bishop of the Diocese of Davenport and was installed on January 4, 1967. He retired as Bishop on November 12, 1993.[1] Bishop O'Keefe died of a heart attack on April 12, 2000.[2]

While he was the Auxiliary Bishop of Saint Pual, he participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council.[3]
