Gera Midira Keya Gebriel

Gera Midira Keya Gebriel is one of the 105 woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Located at the eastern edge of the Ethiopian highlands in the Semien Shewa Zone, Gera Midira Keya Gebriel is bordered on the south by Mam Midrina Lalo Midir, on the southwest by Moretna Jiru, on the northwest by the Debub Wollo Zone, on the north by Geshe Rabel, and on the east by the Oromia Zone. Towns and cities in Gera Midira Keya Gebriel include Mehal Meda and Zemero.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 183,027, of whom 92,599 were males and 90,428 were females; 14,014 or 7.66% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 11.8%. With an estimated area of 1,686.88 square kilometers, Gera Midira Keya Gebriel has an estimated population density of 108.5 people per square kilometer, which is less than the Zone average of 134.37.[1]
