Hmm... go on vacation? :P I don't want to be president... I'm only good with making and fixing the pictures, not administrating people. Maybe you could be president and I could be chief... picturer? Mopper Speak! 22:55, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Highway's RfA

Request for Adminship
Thank you for supporting/objecting/tropicanising me in my request for Adminship. Although I wasn't promoted to admin status, with a final vote count of 14/27/12, I am very happy with the response I received from my fellow Wikipedians. I was pleasantly suprised at the support, and was touched by it. I will also work harder on preventing disputes and boosting my edit count (which is on the up), so thank you to all your objectors. Hopefully I will re-apply soon and try again for the mop. Thanks again, Highway Rainbow Sneakers

[edit] Reminder...

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template.

Also, I noticed that you used 27 warnings in one edit(!) on User talk:Imnotemo1117 ([1]). Next time, try to keep your warnings relevant and concise. Maybe use less warnings next time. — Ian Manka Talk to me‼ 22:34, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

I made those warnings when I thought Wikipedia was a joke and I could do whatever I wanted, so I warned that user 100 times for 1 case of vandalism. But, that was when I didn't really care about wikipedia. Now I care about wikipedia. --GeorgeMoney T·C 22:37, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Concur with the above, that's just fscking excessive!
<grin> Do behave a bit more, of course! :-) Do still try to be somewhat creative though. Just 'cause it's serious, doesn't mean it doesn't have to be fun. :-P Kim Bruning 22:40, 14 May 2006 (UTC) Also, see page history for earlier incarnations of this comment
What? --GeorgeMoney T·C 22:53, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
I'm glad you made that complete turnaround of opinion about Wikipedia. I can see you are a tech savvy guy, I will be coming to you when I need help with code and stuff :-). I visited your website too, ohhh... the colors, I have a headache :-P. Cheers, NoSeptember talk 23:05, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
I made my website a long time ago and lost the password to the server, so now I can't change it, but I can still access my E-Mail from it.
And about my Wikipedia opinion, my story begins:
Once apon a time, I had to do a report in December 2005, so I went to WP. Then I got an account, and created an article. It went for an AfD, and the result was move. But, I was so new, that I thought they deleted my hard work. So, I got mad and didn't log on for a while. Still holding a grudge against wikipedia, I started being a vandal (look at my early contribs). Then on April 14 2006, I saw someone added a template to a page. I looked at the template and saw it was protected. Then I looked at the page history to see who protected it. From there, I clicked on peoples' usernames and saw they had userboxes. So, I said, "Hey. I want userboxes too!". So, I got a bunch of userboxes. Then, I wanted more userboxes, so I joined random clubs for the boxes. After that, nathanrdotcom welcomed me to Esperanza (one of the clubs I joined). So, I looked at his userpage, and saw he was a member of an unofficial club called the Birthday Committee that was created by one person. So, on April 19, I created my own committee called the Cat Lovers' Committee (which got moved to WikiProject Cats). Then, I guess I got addicted to wikipedia, and now I can't leave my computer. So, now, I am here typing this long story.... Now I am about to type my edit summary. I am about to press "save page". But before I save, I have to sign. GeorgeMoney T·C 23:28, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
That's all very nice. I hope that one day you will write an encyclopedia article again. <subtle hint> ;-) Kim Bruning 23:55, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
Can I call you Geoff? (like an inside joke) :-) NoSeptember talk 01:17, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
Sure, if you want. We will have to let people figure what that means :) . --GeorgeMoney T·C 01:21, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion

I deleted the template because it clearly violates our criteria for speedy deletion, as I explained in my deletion summary. However, I have neither the time nor the inclination to work out a bot to clean up after people who have chosen to violate policy, and as far as I can tell this is not required of me by our deletion policy. The simple solution is to not use encyclopedia-space to express points of view, period, especially those which (per Jimbo) are clearly divisive and/or inflammatory. Right. Good to know :). Also, I like pressing alt and random numbers and it makes stuff like: , ÊÆ╒\╨m♠T`≥╘╚ªz▒╞╧2.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by GeorgeMoney (talkcontribs) .

[edit] PotD, Spam etc

Yeah, I'll join, and I put my name on your spamlist, too. You find Esperanza spam annoying? What do Esperanza do, anyway? They're supposed to strengthen Wikipedia's sense of community and maintain a support network for its members, but I've never actually seen it do any strengthening or maintaining, though you do always seem like a pleasent bunch of people, especially Covington, he/she (not sure - leaning towards she) is always very nice. And how do you go about this strengthing and maintaining? Well, anyway. Uh...will you show me how to archive? My talk page is too long! Sergeant Snopake 10:59, 15 May 2006 (UTC) (my sig is so boring now...)
I dreamt I was being awarded a barnstar for cleaning up vandilism in real life last night! Not my weirdest Wikipedia dream, but it comes pretty close. XD Don't worry, I archived it myself. I learnt how! Sergeant Snopake

[edit] User:Userboxuser

Oy vey... First, he's a sockpuppet, so you gotta put the notices up. Second, I don't think this is the best solution. If almost all the userboxes get deleted, there's lots of support for a "Gallery," similar to Wikipedia:Userboxes, except that it would have code instead of template links. It's the same idea, but better to have it in Wikipediaspace than Userspace. But maybe this guy can be a testing ground for this idea. TheJabberwʘck 04:21, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Yes, but if all of the userboxes got deleted, that will be the only place to go.--GeorgeMoney T·C 04:29, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Nah, smart people have been archiving their boxes for a while. User:BigDT/Religious_User_Boxes, for example. TheJabberwʘck 04:43, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Thinking a bit more about the technical side of this guy, are you going to be the only one with his password? Will he be allowed to edit? Or will we give him an indefinite block for not being a real person? Lots of fun things to think about. TheJabberwʘck 03:46, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

No, he won't be allowed to edit. I registered him so I could own his userspace, but I'll still keep the password. --GeorgeMoney T·C 03:51, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I may be in need of your help

Hope you've recovered from the Bop. MoP hit me pretty hard and I had to take an Aspirin. Just following up on a Sock that Jeff3000 tagged the other night and you "evidenced" him a little further. He disappeared after that. I may(probably) be a little premature but I believe the same user has returned in the form of this guy. He is just starting out but already his edits are very similar to the previous sock(or pair of socks as it were). If you happen across him keep an eye on his edits. And if he happens to turn out to be completely legit let me know and I'll go take a paranoia pill. Cheers and take care! Anger22 12:36, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

I am very sure he is a sockpuppet, because he seems to target articles of countries, and he is randomly linking words like "villages". Also both people seem to keep removing the {{ASEAN}} template from the Phillipines article. I am sure he is not legit, and I think we should tag him as that. --GeorgeMoney T·C 14:44, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
My AGF is thin and holding by a thread. I alerted both you and Jeff3000 to his presense as I am going on a Wiki-break for 3-4 days. I just didn't want to come back and find the entire Singapore article wiki-linked. Do what thou wilt. Cheers! Anger22 14:49, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
PS- It looks like he's leaving Southeast Asia and heading across the Himalayas towards the Middle East :) . I already have about 150 countries on my watchlist. Pretty soon I'll have the whole globe. Fun Fun Fun. Anger22 14:52, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Please, don't AGF on this guy. He is obviously registering multiple accounts to do the weird kind of vandalism he is up to. --GeorgeMoney T·C 14:59, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
As I mentioned, do what you think should be done. The first(?) incarnation of this guy rubbed me wrong from the first time I saw him. I discussed it with another user who told me to hold off and AGF for a while. I did that and he just got worse until I got NSLE involved and he saw fit to block him. The user who told me to AGF, BTW, Master of Puppets!. He's so polite! Cheers! Anger22 15:05, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Maybe...... A little too polite!.......................... *Just Kidding*(I hope)--GeorgeMoney T·C 22:46, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

Oooh. I like that name :) . Now are you going to move all of your subpages too?--GeorgeMoney T·C 03:21, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Yep, it took a while, but I think I'm done. Let's see if this sig will match with your userpage... Λυδαcιτγ 04:28, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
It works great! Except for the green alpha. --GeorgeMoney T·C 04:35, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, well that's gonna happen with most EA members. It's funny, I keep looking at my watchlist and not realizing Audacity is me. It'll probably be a couple of days before the identity change sinks in. Λυδαcιτγ(TheJabberwock) 05:30, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Well, since I have 1000 pages on my watchlist, I have set it to hide my edits by default to not crowd up my watchlist. Also, I used to be a member of EA, with my old sig, but recent events have changed that. I also suggest making a subpage User:Audacity/EA and putting on it {{ greene }} --GeorgeMoney T·C 14:52, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, that's one of the few good things about a watchlist. I use recent changes instead. You can see I don't have that many pages on it, but it keeps me busy. Λυδαcιτγ(TheJabberwock) 00:39, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] VandalProof 1.2 Now Available

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:25, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Filter

Hi George, I came across the filter you set up for Nathan, and I understand your reasons behind doing it. I really appreciate your looking out for others, but I don't think this is the way! First of all: a user talk page is for all Wikipedians to communicate directly with each other, there should not be a list of rules (other than standard policy) or a filtering committee determining what someone is 'allowed' to say to someone else. Imagine what would happen if everyone started doing it this way... Second, it sort of assumes bad faith from every single user arriving at a talk page, as if the whole Wikipedia community is out to get Nathan, and he needs protection from that. I guarantee you that that will do him more harm than good, as even users who were positive or neutral towards him might frown at 'not being allowed' to post something at his talk page. Anyway, I discussed this with Nathan, and as far as I know he has contacted you about it. Please remove it, and have the filter page deleted. Kind regards, --JoanneB 08:07, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi George, from a comment on Nathan's talk page, I realised that you thought I meant you were ignoring his wishes. I didn't think that, as I knew you were on a wikibreak, and realised that you couldn't have responded yet. I know Nathan's comments that he wanted it removed would have been enough for you, but I guess I just wanted you to know some of my reasoning behind my objections to it, for the future. My reasons for proposing to take it down were not related to his desires to still have the filter or not, if he would have wanted it to stay, I would have done the same thing (and I would have deleted the whole thing myself if necessary), for the exact reasons above. Kind regards, --JoanneB 21:48, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Yay! :D I can still remember the day we got her. 'Look over there. She's looking at you.' 'Aw! Can I have her?' I remember begging and begging all night. Next day we got Molly. Next day, EACH DOG WAS HALF OFF! My dad was upset, but oh well. :P She isn't very smart. Only knows 'come here' and 'eat the turkey!' OreosTalkContribs 01:04, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
Very interesting story! --GeorgeMoney T·C 01:05, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
And I remember she and my two cats got in a fight, and I remember having a debate with my parents over what to name the bundle of fluff. 'Britney!' (I was a Brit fan back then) 'Jenny!' We eventually settled on naming her after my friend from down the street, Molly. :D We tried to teach her tricks but only my cousin Jamie got something out of her. She eats turkey in 0.000000434342 seconds, though. OreosTalkContribs 01:08, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
Mmmmmmm..... Turkey........ *random drooling* --GeorgeMoney T·C 01:22, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
Erm, yes, that trip to Yosemite did something to you. Hey, what's the link to your journal thing? OreosTalkContribs 01:28, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
No, I'm fine. And, the journal will be held off-site to be in-compliance with WP:NOT. Also, I haven't found the time to type it up yet :( --GeorgeMoney T·C 01:32, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
Aw. :( If you've registered for Blogger already you could simply make a new blog. OreosTalkContribs 01:39, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
Nah, I want to put it on my website. --GeorgeMoney T·C 01:41, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
Good idea....speaking of your website, I think this is screwed...at least from my address.... OreosTalkContribs 01:53, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
Well, I haven't uploaded that part of the site yet. I am planning to make a "log-in" section, so only my friends can read stuff. Maybe I might even tell you the password!--GeorgeMoney T·C 01:57, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
Sweet. :P I was just looking at the barnstars....you deserve a few. :P (In my opinion, that is.) OreosTalkContribs 02:00, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry!!!!

I apologise profusely. My mistake was to rely on hovering over your name in the diffs screen. It gave me a time schedule of just over 1h 30m. However this is the time since the last change to your own page, not the username history. I am really really sorry. I should have followed up the link to your userpage. I was also suspicious because the unsigned comments. Regards, E Asterion u talking to me? 01:11, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

That's ok. We are all people. --GeorgeMoney T·C 01:22, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
Thank you. E Asterion u talking to me? 01:26, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Happy barnstar! :)

The Working Man's Barnstar
I decided to give you this barnstar because of all your contributions to Wikipedia...I don't know if I'm allowed to give barnstars out, but what the heck. :D OreosTalkContribs 02:02, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
You deserve it. OreosTalkContribs 02:19, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Wikibreak

I know you didn't vandalise, but anyone with that template's page gets borked with your reverts; please revert. NSLE (T+C) at 04:00 UTC (2006-05-27)

What? --GeorgeMoney T·C 04:02, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My RfA

Have you recently looked at WT:CCD or WP:CCD? Also, it's me for judgement - not CCD. Computerjoe's talk 08:50, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Only if you think it appropiate. Computerjoe's talk 17:00, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
No, no. I will Support. I just voted for that because it was late and I was reading the oppose votes, and I guess they convinced me. I understand how you don't like people judging your admin abilities on your organisation. But, first, I have to vote in some other RfA's. --GeorgeMoney T·C 17:04, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] An RFA thank you!

Thank you for your support on my nomination! If I can ever lend a hand with something, let me know. :) Jude (talk) 11:08, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikibreak

Hey, George! Great to see you back. I hope you had a nice time on your wikibreak to Yosemite National Park (or an adequate one, at least)! ;)
About Nathan, maybe you're being a little hasty? Do you really want to ruin your friendship over this? I appreciate that Nathan isn't being very helpful with his 'shit happens' attitude, but he's under a lot of stress at the moment, which is why you created this filter in the first place. This situation just happened to some of my "real life" friends, and it's very much the same as this (something one of them said got lost in translation). Think about it. BTW, I've left a similar message on Nathan's page, so I'm not taking sides! Sergeant Snopake 20:36, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Please stop.

Stop this mindless crusade against me just because you took something I said wrongly and I didn't add an emoticon. I'm not your enemy. If I was your enemy, would I have helped you with your userpage/etc? No, my comments belong on your talk because they relate to the subjects that they were posted about. See my comments on my talk. Seriously, you need to act a bit more mature. Removing all traces of me on your user/talk pages is not going to remove me from Wikipedia.

Remove your image. I'm not asking. Remove it now or it'll be removed for you. It's unencyclopedic and Wikipedia is not your own personal playground to namecall people you think have attacked you in some way. The adult thing to do in this situation is talk. I'll be here if you want to talk this out maturely. If not, and you want to continue with this ridiculous namecalling crusade over a small misunderstanding, you can stay off my user/talk pages.

On the other hand, it's quite funny how someone who claimed so adamantly that he's a friend, defended me etc, would be so quick to attack me whenever the mood strikes. Kinda shows a person's true colours. — Nathan (talk) 20:37, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Yes, it's going a little far to make an image against him. Surely you can remove it? Do you truly not care for this friendship? Sergeant Snopake 20:55, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
I also suggest you take down this page. Prodego talk 21:06, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
I deleted it. --GeorgeMoney T·C 21:17, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
Thank you. Prodego talk 21:18, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
You missed deleting the link in that page. *goes away now* — Nathan (talk) 21:51, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
Deleted it. --GeorgeMoney T·C 21:55, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
