[edit] Lugus
Could you please verify your additions to Lugus, I will be removing them without verification, as I find them highly suspect of being Original research. ~~~~ 09:57, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)
P.s. Please note this does not refer to the Etymology section, which I have no intention to remove. ~~~~ 09:58, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Blanking Pages
Hi! Just wondered why you were creating and then blanking pages recently. I'm especially interested in Celtic mythology and it seems like you might know quite a bit about it. I'd love to help you expand them if that's what you're needing. Anyways, just thought I would ask. .:.Jareth.:. babelfish July 6, 2005 04:58 (UTC)
[edit] Inscriptions
Hi Geoff. I'm following your addition of Celtic deities, and I notice where you cite inscriptions you reference them with abbreviations and numbers. Could you expand those references, perhaps in a "References" section at the bottom, for those of us who aren't familar with the publications in question? I'd also appreciate it if you'd name your links, rather than just have a list of numbers to click at the bottom of the page. Other than that, keep up the good work. --Nicknack009 6 July 2005 08:16 (UTC)
[edit] P- and Q-Celtic
You asked: "What evidence is there to suggest that there was no intial split into P-Celtic/Q-Celtic?" Since it's impossible to prove a negative, the burden of proof is on the ones making the positive assertion. The question therefore is "What evidence is there to suggest that there was an initial split into P-Celtic/Q-Celtic?" and the answer is "not much". See Celtic languages#Classification for a discussion of the two sides. You asked, "Do experts generally agree that the *p or *qu was largely a matter of local dialect similar to how English dialects handle the pronunciation of post-vocalic r? Surely this would impy that for some time most Celtic languages were mutually intelligible?" I'm not sure what you're getting at. Experts agree that every Celtic language had either *kw or *p as its reflex of PIE *kw, and certainly there was a time when the ancestors of the Celtic languages were mutually intelligible dialects of a single Proto-Celtic language, but it's impossible to say whether that was still true at the time the Celtic languages first start being attested. --Angr/tɔk tə mi 8 July 2005 13:16 (UTC)
[edit] Welsh etymology
Hi there. I am trying to disambiguate links to the page "Welsh", which is a disambiguation page. As fast as I do them, more pop up. You seem to be writing an awful lot of articles on obscure god names (who are, in fact, so obscure that I seriously question the need for separate articles on each one: would not a single article on them be more readable?) and etymology. When you are talking about language, it would be very helpful if, instead of linking to Welsh, you could link straight to Welsh language. Thanks! --Telsa 23:51, 10 July 2005 (UTC)
- As to one single page, I'd be inclined to start at the Celtic polytheism article, which has recently had a substantial amount of material merged into it. It has nice categories, which will be a help. --Telsa 20:43, 11 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Mabon festival vs. Mabon ap Modron
was there a purpose behind reverting the Mabon link on Celtic polytheism to the neopagan festival (Mabon) instead of the Welsh mythological character (Mabon ap Modron)? Whateley23 00:19, 22 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Aine
Hello, since you have contributed to the article Aine, you may be interested in voting on the question of whether to move Aine to Áine. --Angr/tɔk tə mi 12:24, 30 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Table of Proto-Celtic Language and Deity names
Hi: Were you the original author of the table of Celtic deity names (which contained Proto-Celtic name reconstructions and suggested semantic connotations, etc) that was once on the "Celtic Polytheism" and "Neo-Druidism" pages, before it was removed by the jackass other users? If so, I need to know, because I need to give you credit and citation for a project I'm working on.
