[edit] Image Tagging Image:North hall.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:North hall.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 16:28, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edit summaries

Hi Geoboe84! I notice you've been updating quite a few figure skating articles. Thanks! Just one thing: would you mind using edit summaries? It helps people keep track of what's happening to the articles. And perhaps you'd be interested in joining WikiProject Figure Skating. We'd love to have you. Cheers, Fang Aili talk 13:50, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --Fang Aili talk 14:31, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Skating medals

I like what you did with the skating articles, almost. This edit seems much better than the current version. For people with color-blindness, the medals with lack of a number (first, second,) may not convey any information. Also, if there is a case where a skater only has bronze or bronze/silver medals, how do you know that the bronze medal is not gold (or vice/versa). What do you think? [edit] Medals

Hi Geoboe84

I have put your comment regrading the medal tables here so others see it. But I am going to carry on changing them as discussed. The problem we have is with the images are that is decreases accessibility, and looks ugly.

Gary van der Merwe 08:13, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Howdy Geoboe. I don't know about deciding on a "universal" medal box, but there's a pretty strong concensus for non-medal images and years at the top. I agree that we should link the events, especially if they're not linked in the article. --Fang Aili talk 15:10, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Portal:Figure skating

Hi, I'm afraid Portal:Browse is only for listing completed portals. See Wikipedia:Portal for instructions on improving the portals, then once the figure skating portal is finished and polished, you can add it to the lists. Thanks. --Quiddity 21:07, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:PA-772.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:PA-772.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:09, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] re: Table Title Background Colors

How about we take it to the project talk page for more input? --Fang Aili talk 17:21, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Season years?

Hey. I noticed you shortened years down in Alissa Czisny and Beatrisa Liang's competitive highlights from four digits to two. Any specific reason? Kolindigo 20:53, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pennsylvania Route 233

Hello, I noticed that you are a memeber of the PA Highways wikiproject. Well I could use some help. I am currently working on expanding all the Pennsylvania state park articles. I have written articles on about 4 or 5, maye 6 state parks that are on Pennsylvania Route 233. Could you make an article for 233? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas. Dincher 16:52, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Thanks for getting that done! It should clear quite a few red links for me. Dincher 14:07, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] sorry

sorry if I came off a little abrupt on the edit summary for Benjamin Okolski (nats vs. junior nats). I should know better than to edit wikipedia when I've been having a bad day. Kolindigo 01:08, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

The Lysacek thing is why I've been cranky all day! I love both him and Weir, and I suck at dealing with the suspense. Kolindigo 01:23, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Eagle Scout

I noticed that you are using the Philippines Eagle Scout userbox. Are you aware that there is a userbox for BSA Eagle Scouts, too? {{User Eagle Scout}} --NThurston 20:39, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] re: 4CC team

Johnny Weir was originally named to the team.[1] He dropped out, which is why he's not listen anymore on the ISU page. But at Nationals, he was originally on the team and Abbott was named as the alternate. Kolindigo 01:53, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
