Low to normal levels of vandalism from shared IPs and experimenting users. Vandalism levels by new users & IPs is normal. CAT:CSD still has a heavy backlog. -- Hdt83 Chat 05:20, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Hello! It's me. Not much to report, as always. Anyway, I have began to start a BEAM robot. Notice I said "begin to start," as the actual construction has not began. I am still in the visualization stage. If anyone would like to give me a few tips, please post them on my talk page. The 'bot's details are as follows:

Locomotion Sensory Abilities Functions Chasis Power
Tank-like treads. It should be able to turn, go into reverse, and go forward (of course). It will have one set of two treads. Phototropic behavior, and the ability to with to thermatropic or soundtropic behaviors. Even when the other "modes" are active, I plan to have a "head" able to look at the best source of light. It may have two "feelers" to detect when it has bumped into an object, thus activating the reverse or turning behaviors. I would really like for the little thing to be able to move around, and as Mark Tilden, father of BEAM put it, "stay out of trouble." I might include a little woofer to send out sounds indicating that it is in "trouble." Which may very well be a lot. The chasis is essentially a dome with the aforementioned head sitting atop it, always ready to search out "life" sustaining light. I will probably put the little woofer in the back, under the dome. Another possible feature is a small wifi webcam to sit under the dome, facing forwards. This bot will be solar powered. An eco-friendlly 'bot is a happy 'bot!
