Text imported from the German Wikipedia, on finding it missing. But my line of enquiry was the following. In his article on "Twinned Crystals", R. W. Cahn (Adv. Phys. 3 (1954) 363-445) states, "Friedel's views on the dangers of bibliographies precluded him from giving any references in his otherwise most useful books." Does anyone have additional information on this viewpoint, and on others who may have shared it? -- scwimbush 12:48, 11 September 2006 (UTC).
