As someone who suffers this rather mild affliction, I'd just like to point out that sour things, particularly pineapples and tomatoes, irritate the tongue more than spicy foods. Of course, from what I know of it, it affects each individual differently. Fëaluinix 05:18, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

Heh; mee too, and I stumbled over this article to find out that it was created relatively recently. I guess my case is milder, as I don't have irritations whatsoever (and grapefruits are my favorites). Should I upload a picture to compare whose is nicer :-))?

Spicy things almost don't affect me at all, though citrus fruits can bother me every once in awhile. People have recently noticed my tongue, and yes, they use it as an insult. xD Hitokirifelix 00:25, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
