Georgina Bloomberg

Georgina Bloomberg (20 January, 1983) is the daughter of Michael Bloomberg, current mayor of New York City. Additionally, she is a very accomplished equestrian, competing on the show jumping Grand Prix circuit. She also has begun a charity called "The Rider’s Closet," which redistributes out-grown riding clothes to competitors, and volunteers at a disabled riding program held at Claremont Stables.

Georgina Bloomberg is currently (as of 2007) enrolled at New York University, where she is studying art and sports management.

Her equestrian accomplishments include:

  • Member of the US Show Jumping Team at the 2005 Samsung Super League at La Baule, France
  • 2004 Winner of the USET Foundation Maxine Beard Award
  • Individual Gold Medal at the 2003 North American Young Riders’ Championships
  • Team Gold Medal at the 2002 North American Young Riders’ Championships
  • Grand Champion and Best Child Rider at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in 2001
  • Best Child Rider at the 2001 National Horse Show
  • Grand Champion and Best Child Rider at the Devon Horse Show
  • 2000 & 2001 Circuit Champion and Reserve Champion in the Large Junior Hunters at the Winter Equestrian Festival
