Georges Cardinal Cottier

Georges Marie Martin Cardinal Cottier, OP, (born April 25, 1922) is a Swiss Dominican friar, Cardinal and theologian.
Born in Céligny, Georges Cottier joined the Dominican Order in 1945. He was a professor at the Universities of Geneva and Fribourg. He was made a cardinal by Pope John Paul II in the consistory of October 21, 2003 then Titular Archbishop of Tullia, Pro-Theologian of the Pontifical Household and retired as Secretary-General of the International Theological Commission.
