George Shire

George Shire is a Zimbabwean political analyst with close links to Robert Mugabe. [1] He is an academic who has worked at the Open University. [2] He claims to have been a veteran of the war to liberate Rhodesia from white minority rule in the Rhodesian Bush War. He has written newspaper articles and participated in television and radio programs defending the actions of Robert Mugabe's government. [3], [4], [5]

He is the brother of Perence Shire who led the massacre by the Zimbabwean 5th brigade of the Ndebele in the south of Zimbabwe in the 1980's.[6]]
