George Shelby

George Shebly is a Saxophone player. Born April 14th, 1961, and raised in Los Angeles, California. George started sax lessons at age 8. He attended California State University, Northridge. He studied with Bill Greene, Charlie Shoemake, Claude Lakey, and Ernie Watts. He also plays Flute, Clarinet, and EWI. He has performed and/or recorded with Bobby Caldwell, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick, Johnny Hallyday, Johnny Mathis, Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Brian Culbertson, Keb' Mo, Boz Scaggs, Jim Brickman, Michael McDonald, Sheena Easton, Melissa Manchester, Larry Carlton, CeCe Winans, Fred Hammond, Daniel Ho, Frankie Avalon, Shirley Bassey, Cybill Sheppard, Ann Jillian, and Brian Setzer. He has performed on Entertainment Tonight, American Idol, (Star Academy in France). Good Morning America, with William Shatner on those Priceline.com ads, ABC promos. With Barry Manilow, on the Academy Awards, Judging Amy, Late Night with David Letterman, the Ellen Show, Real Sex, Malcom in the Middle, the Enquirer TV show, Bill Curtis Reports, Maria Shriver presents, CD credits include Hilary Duff's "Metamorphosis", Bette Midler's "Peggy Lee Tribute", Jacksoul, Lucy Pearl, Barry Manilow’s “Greatest Songs of the Fifties”, The West Side Story Tribute, Garden Party, three CD's with Mike Sims, five CD's with Russ Miller, three CD's with Brian Setzer. He has performed on the movie soundtracks for Robots, the Mask, Zoolah Patrol, the Frank Sinatra Story, Two On The Run, and many others. George's own CD's include "Touch", and "Oasis of You". George continues to give clinics at high schools and universities, tour worldwide, and record in Los Angeles.
