George Savarese is an educator and radio personality.

George Savarese is the longtime host of World Affairs Council's Sunday "Global Press Conference," on KQV radio.[1]. Savarese is also an occasional contributor to AP Radio and National Public Radio.[2] He occasionally does freelance work for ESPN radio, covering the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates.

Since 1997, George Savarese has been a teacher at Mt. Lebanon High School in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His core responsibilities are 11th grade U.S. History and 12th Grade International Relations.
As the school's National Forensic League coach, Savarese guided his students to the 2006 state championship.[3] He is also one of the Mt. Lebanon High school Model United Nations sponsors, along with fellow social studies teacher Peter DiNardo; the MUN team has consistently been among the premier programs in the region.
For his work at the High School, he has been named a Teacher of Excellence by the Teacher Excellence Center.[4]

Savarese was married in May of 2006 and is expecting a daughter with new wife Tyra. The pair resides in Charleroi, Pennsylvania. Savarese has an outstanding knowledge of world affairs. He has traveled extensively around the world. A full-blooded Italian American, Mr. Savarese can speak Italian as well. He was raised in Pittsburgh's Bloomfield neighborhood.
