George Ogăraru, (born February 3, 1980 in Bucharest), is a Romanian football player, who plays for Ajax Amsterdam.

Before joining the squad of Ajax, in the summer of 2006, Ogăraru played in Romania's Divizia A for Steaua Bucharest between 1998 and 2000 and again between 2002 and 2006, but also for FCM Reşiţa between 2000 and 2001 and Oţelul Galaţi between 2001 and 2002 where he was on loan from Steaua.

Ogăraru played 127 games in Divizia A, scoring four goals and also 25 games in Divizia B, scoring once.

Ajax Amsterdam paid USD 4 million to sign Ogăraru, thus materializing the second most expensive transfer from a Romanian football club.

Ogăraru won a cap for Romania, in 2005.
