George Newton, 1st Baron Eltisley

George Douglas Cochrane Newton, 1st Baron Eltisley (14 July 18792 September 1942) was a Conservative Party politician in the United Kingdom.

He was elected as Member of Parliament for Cambridge at a by-election in 1922 following the resignation of the Conservative MP Sir Eric Geddes.

Newton retained the seat at the 1922 general election, and was re-elected at four further elections until he was elevated to the peerage in 1934 as Baron Eltisley.
