[edit] Biography
George Kollias is the current drummer for the American technical death metal band Nile. He previously drummed for Sickening Horror.
He also used to be in the melodic death metal band Nightfall, but left the band in 2005 to join Nile.
[edit] Technique
He is notable for using only one kick pedal during blast beats, rather than the more common double-kicks that most drummers use. He is also known for his extremely fast yet very technical drumming and is ranked as one of the most talented metal drummers of his time.
George also has the fastest double bass speed currently recorded in a musical context on a CD, Sacrifice Unto Sebek on the album Annihilation of the Wicked clocks in at 265bpm or 1060 single strikes of the bass pedal if measured over a one minute time scale.
