George Kallis

George Kallis was born in Cyprus in 1974 and is now a highly regarded new film composer who has just finished the score for the feature film Highlander: The Source (2006) for director Brett Leonard (Virtuosity, The Lawnmower Man). For the production he conducted the Budapest Symphony Orchestra. He is now pre-booked for the feature film Antigravity (2007).

George composed the score for the WWII feature drama Joy Division (2006) for director Reg Traviss which was released in UK cinemas on 17th November 2006. Working with music producer Graham Walker (The Talented Mr Ripley, Sleepy Hollow) he recorded the soundtrack with the Slovak Symphony Orchestra in which he orchestrated and conducted the music. He has orchestrated the score for Ultimate Avengers II and currently orchestrating Doctor Strange, both for Marvel Enterprises. He holds a Masters Degree in Composition from the Royal College of Music and a dual major Bachelors Degree in Composition and Film Scoring from Berklee College of Music.

George's other credits include major documentaries such as the opening titles for BBC2 HORIZON and Travel Channel's It Happened Here (5x60), TV commercials including Hellenic Bank for Ogilvy and LS430 for Lexus Cars, as well as international multimedia installations such as Expo2000 in Hanover. George was also commissioned by the British Council to write three orchestral works for the Cyprus State Orchestra. His theatrical work includes scoring the production of Iphigenia in Avlis directed by Sir Timothy Ackroyd. He scored music for BRg Music Works (Clear Channel) in Los Angeles and has also written and produced the music completed Plasma Lounge, a music DVD for the EasyEntertainment group, which is out on worldwide distribution. In addition he supervised the recording of the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra for TimeMachine BBC1 (3X60') and assisted in the music production of the Emmy-awarded animation series Tutenstein. George is currently songwriting and producing tracks for up and coming singer-songwriter Caroline Harrison.

He has written hit songs for many Greek born recording artists, including In The Name of Love, released by BMG. His own album There's A Child, There Is Light was a gold album and he has also worked with the acclaimed Greek singers Mihalis Hatziyiannis and Margarita Zormbala. George is represented by SMATALENT
