George J. Folsey

George J. Folsey (1898–1988) was an American cinematographer. He was the cinematographer for 168 films between 1919 and his retirement in 1976. He was nominated for Academy Awards in 1932-1933 (considered one year), 1934, 1936, 1943, 1944, 1946, 1947, 1952, 1953, 1954 (2), and 1963, but he failed to win each time. He was some times credited without his middle initial. He is the father of director/producer/editor George Folsey Jr. (The Three Amigos, Cheaper by the Dozen, The Pink Panther)
