George Hubbard Blakeslee

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

George Hubbard Blakeslee (1871-1954) was an academic, professor at Clark University and the founder of the Journal of Race Development, which despite its name suggestive of eugenics was, in fact, the first American journal devoted to international relations. [1] This journal was later renamed the Journal of International Relations, which in turn was merged with Foreign Affairs.

Blakeslee participated in a number of international bodies: the Washington Disarmament Conference of 1921, the Lytton Commission of 1931-32, and the post-World War II Far East Commission.
