George Georges

George Georges (15 April 1920 - 23 September 2002) was from 1968-1987 a Labor senator for Queensland, Australia.

Georges was a fighter for human rights and for socialist ideas. He was jailed several times in the 1970s and 1980s during struggles against attacks on civil liberties and workers' rights by the reactionary regime of Premier Joh Bjelke-Petersen.
