George Dean

George Dean is a chess player and chess set collector. He is a medical doctor by trade, having graduated from Wayne State University before moving into family practice with the United States Navy and private practice in South East Michigan. In addition to this work, which has seen him recognised as Family Physician of the year by the American Academy of Family Physicians, he has acted as a consultant to the Russian and Chinese Governments.
He is best known as the owner of the largest collection of chess sets in the world, and owns the only Faberge chess set, arguably the most valuable chess set in the world. He is also the founder and president emeritius of Chess Collectors International.
