George Curtis Moore

George Curtis Moore was the United States' Deputy Ambassador to Sudan. He was assassinated (see Khartoum diplomatic assassinations) on March 1st 1973, when Palestinian gunmen, part of the "Black September" group took him and the Saudi ambassador, Sheikh Abdullah al Malhouk, his wife, the US ambassador to Sudan, Cleo Noel Jr, the Belgian Chargé d'affaires, Guy Eid, and his Jordanian counterpart, Adli al Nasser, stormed the Saudi embassy in Khartoum. The gunmen demanded the release of several key Palestinian militants from Israeli prisons.
