George Cowan

George Cowan was an American physical chemist.

A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, he worked on the top secret Manhattan Project at Los Alamos during World War II. He was also the driving influence in founding the Santa Fe Institute.

He received the Enrico Fermi Award.. among other honors.
