George Carmont, born June 30, 1978 in Auckland, New Zealand, is a first grade rugby league player for the Newcastle Knights in the National Rugby League competition. His position of choice is centre. George is a strong defensive player who has continued to prove himself alongside team-mates such as Andrew Johns and Anthony Quinn. He is extremely accommodating to his fans and can be seen signing autographs and posing for photos after every game. George recently cut off his trademark pony-tail. He has represented New Zealand at international level.
