Georg Brandt

Georg Brandt (b. Skinnskatteberg parish, Västmanland County June 26, 1694; d. Stockholm April 29, 1768) was a Swedish chemist and mineralogist who discovered cobalt in 1735[citation needed] while trying to prove that bismuth is not the only element that can be used to color glass or other silicates blue.Also he named it after a word that means Goblin or Evil Spirit
