Georg, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz

Georg, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (12 August 1779-6 September 1860) was a Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
He was born in Hannover the eighth child of Grand Duke Charles II of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and Landgravine Friederike of Hesse-Darmstadt (1752-1782). He succeeded his father on the 6 November 1816 and a year later on the 12 August 1817 married Princess Marie of Hesse-Kassel (1796-1880), and they had four children.

- Duchess Caroline (1821-1876) married Frederick VII of Denmark
- Duke Georg (1824-1876) father of Duke Charles Michael of Mecklenburg
He died on the 6 September 1860 at Neustrelitz and was succeeded by his son Friedrich Wilhelm.
