Geomancer is the name of a DC Comics supervillain.

[edit] History

Little is known about the Geomancer who appears to be a freelance mercenary with powers over the Earth similar to those possessed by the heroes Geo-Force and Terra, or rather similar to the abilities of the equipment used by the villain called Quakemaster. He was first encountered menacing the inhabitants of an African village on the orders of a group called the Council. He was accosted by Sand, but was not deterred from villainy as he joined Johnny Sorrow's Injustice Society where he was defeated by Wildcat. It seemed likely that the next time he encountered the Justice Society of America he would be looking for nothing more than revenge for two relatively embarrassing defeats. And indeed he was, but was once again defeated single-handedly by Sand.

Geomancer died when fellow Injustice Society member Icicle (Cameron Mahkent) accidentally killed him while trying to free him from the state of suspended animation into which the Ultra-Humanite (who had usurped control of Jakeem Thunder's magical Thunderbolt) had placed the metahumans he hadn't brainwashed. Icicle then decided to try to free heroes, since he didn't care if they died, and this second attempt was a success, ironically enough freeing Sand (whom Icicle had chosen as his guinea pig, assuming that Sand's silicon-based metabolism made him more likely to survive should the defreezing process go wrong once again).
