Geoffrey Kendal

Geoffrey Kendal (7 September 191014 May 1998) was an English actor-manager.

Geoffrey Bragg was born in Kendal, Westmorland and married the actress Laura Liddell. They had two daughters together, Jennifer and Felicity Kendal who became successful actresses in their own right.

He made his living as an actor-manager leading a repertory company on tour throughout India following the Second World War. They performed Shakespeare to audiences consisting mainly of schoolchildren. He adopted his birthplace as his stage name. Their story was loosely told by Merchant Ivory in their feature film Shakespeare Wallah (1965).
