[edit] International HapMap Project

I noticed that you reverted my removal of copied text in International HapMap Project. As I indicated in my edit summary and on the Talk page, other issues besides copyright are relevant when text is copied then pasted. Per Wikipedia policy (i.e. Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not), Wikipedia is not a mirror of other websites. I am going to remove the text again, but would welcome discussion on the Talk page if you still have concerns. Also, if you are Thomas J. Hudson, please note that creating an article about yourself is generally frowned upon per the guidelines at Wikipedia:Autobiography. At the very least, you may want to add the appropriate template to that Talk page (i.e. Template:Notable Wikipedian). -AED 22:43, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

I agree that some of the sections from the HapMap text come from the website. However, I DID rewrite completely 2 sections (look at history), so I don't accept that you remove ALL of the text, including the sections I wrote. I am rewriting the remaining sections, so please stop deleting it. And why are you making up accusations on me? I agree that some references are missing for the Thomas J. Hudson text (and thanks for pointing that up), but no I'm not him. If you look at the history and edits I made, you'll see that it's impossible that I am him. So if I can't put up text without citing my sources, you should not make up accusations without some little research first (Genes123; Sept 16 2006)
Regarding International HapMap Project, I apologize for deleting information that may have been rewritten; however, it seems from the edit history that you did not completely rewrite any part of the article. I suggest that the copied information be removed from the article until your rewrite is complete. Regarding Thomas J. Hudson, I qualified my uncertainty with "if you are Thomas J. Hudson". You have included information about him that is not verifiable per WP:V and WP:RS, which gave me a reasonable suspicion that you were him or someone close to him. Thank you for your understanding. -AED 16:05, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Please stop reverting the International HapMap Project page, because you insert copied text from here. It is an obvious copyright violation, the text is too long, and I can see that the texts are not exactly the same, but rewriting a text means you change the whole structure, you rewrite the sentences and the sections. But in this case, the changes are minor ones. I join to help to rewrite the article. If you continue the reverting, I'll have to block you from editing. Thank you for your appreciation. Can you tell AED to stop removing my edits on the International HapMap Project page. I've re-written 2 sections and I was in the middle of re-writing another one and again everything was removed by AED. He can remove all the text taken from the website if that makes him/her happy, but I still don't understand why my edits have to be removed as well. Can you tell him/her to stop?
As I indicated above, the edit history does not indiciate that you re-wrote anything. Furthermore, it does not appear that you are in the middle of re-writing anything as there have been only reverts to the article for the past two months. -AED 17:18, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Some rewritings were made, but not enough. Genes123, could you please rewrite the sections on your subpage? I help if needed, it'd be important to have those sections in the article, but you must understand, we don't want to copy texts from websites. We are all for the same aim, just have to find a common way. :) NCurse work 18:52, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

It seems to be good for me. Thank you for your work. NCurse work 19:24, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
