Genoa Middle School was built in 1997-1998 and opened for the 1998-1999 school year. It is a part of the Westerville City School District, Franklin County, Ohio and is the newest of four middle schools.

In 2005, OMEA judge Phil Louden was hired as the band director.
In 2006, the student created literary magizene, led by Nancy Shew, was given a superior rating.
