Genin Takedown! All Nine Rookies Face Off! (Japanese: 蹴散らせライバル！新人9人全員集合, - Kechirase raibaru! rūkī nainu zenin shūgō) is episode 23 of the anime series Naruto. The episode's storyline is from the Chūnin Exam manga arc.
Kakashi is glad that Team 7 all showed up and reveals, he didn't tell them that if all of Team 7 wasn't there, they wouldn't be allowed to take the exam (in order for Sakura to not feel forced to take it by her love of Sasuke). They enter, only to be surprised at the huge amount of exam candidates that are in the room. Team 7 sees the other 6 rookies who include Ino, Choji, Shikamaru, Kiba, Hinata, and Shino. With so many rivals around, Naruto's team uses the help from a fellow ninja named Kabuto to know what they're up against. It is his seventh time in four years he had taken the exam. Using his info cards, he gives the Rookie Nine valuable information on Rock Lee, Gaara, and the number of participants from each village. He comments that the Sound Village recently sprang up and is not powerful yet. The Sound ninja Dosu, Kin, and Zaku took this remark as if Kabuto was saying that they are inferior compared to the other villages. As a result, Dosu attacks Kabuto with sound waves. Kabuto avoids the attack easily, but the sound waves cause the lenses of his glasses to shatter and he vomits from its effect on his inner ear. Afterwards, the first portion of the Chuunin exams start.
