[edit] Success
Upon its release, the album had managed to get mixed reviews but was credited on their vocal performance. One critic said that "even though Genie Magic isn't quite fully realized as Rock Angelz it definitely won't disappoint fans".
The album peaked at #6 on the Billboard Top Kid Audio (the chart that records sales of "kiddie albums" or albums meant for kids). Though it was successful on the chart, it was not as successful as their first album, Rock Angelz which peaked at #1 on the chart. Genie Magic became their second album to chart on the Billboard 200 (the main album chart) where it peaked at #106. Once again, chartwise, the album was not as successful as their last album Rock Angelz which peaked at #79 on the Billboard 200. Despite its low peak, the album was not considered a flop due to the fact that it is usual for children's album to peak at low positions on the Billboard 200, which because of the fact that they are not getting as much promotion as mainstream albums (such as rock, pop and R&B) from their record companies.
[edit] Awards
However this album didn't peak as good, as the Rock Angelz, but it did win the Parent to Parent Adding Wisdom Award. Parent to Parent say that it's "A way cool CD by Bratz. Tweens will love it!"
Jodie Lynn, the CEO/founder of this award said: "The Bratz Girls CD is a great CD for kids and parents alike. Everyone simply loves it. It inspires everyone to get in a great mood as the kids sing along and dance -- parents too. The artists do an amazing job in each song and it's the perfect introduction to lively fun music with awesome beats. Honestly, I don't know who likes it more, the kids or the parents...that speaks volumes! "
Next to that, it won one of the awards from Dr. Toy as the best vacation product.
