Talk:Gemma Augustea

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Salvete amici et amicae! To lovers of Ancient History and the curious! This article, I realize, is imperfect. However, I strive to make it better, and encourage anyone with expertise or fervor to add your two sestertii. I ask only that if anyone wants to make major changes, please discuss them here first.

I do have some issues I need to fix, like linking Dioscurides to someone other than the Wikipedia entry, as it refers to a different man. I also need to fix the formatting to have it conform to Wiki standards (such as italics, citations, etc.) as well as to make it more readable and asthetically pleasing. I appreciate your patience as I work diligently to make this an exciting new article. -Zephlon 16:06, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

There is an article on Dioscurides, the Greek physician. Although Dioscurides, the favored sculptor of Augustus, is not prominently known, should I create a disambiguation page for the two, and on that page, briefly mention the sculptor, and perhaps throw in a link to the gemma, or even request a page of his own? Thoughts? -Zephlon 17:54, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)
