Talk:Gemini Lounge

[edit] The exact location
I have no spcific knowledge about the location, but from what i get on gmaps, said church is off by one block, at Flatlands and E40. I assume that both the address and occupancy are part of the same mistake.
Is the Flatbush/Flatands intersection relevant? --Benstown 09:58, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
The location is now inhabited by the church that was named in an edit made on August 6th. This was verified not by gmaps but by physical presence at the intersection of Troy Ave and Flatlands Ave on or about August 5, 2006. The front facade of the Gemini Lounge always stood out from the other buildings in the immediate vicinity; many who grew up in the Canarsie/East Flatbush section of Brooklyn have memories of the front facade of the Gemini Lounge in the 1970s/early 1980s when travelling along westbound on Flatlands Avenue by car toward Flatbush Avenue, after crossing Utica Avenue. It does seem somewhat interesting that the physical structure and space that formerly housed the Gemini Lounge is now apparently a Church. Just for clarity, the primary address of the building formerly occupied by the Gemini lounge is 2082 East 41st Street.
While one wall of the building is at Intersection of Flatlands Ave and Troy Ave, the property runs substantially along East 41st Street and not Troy Ave. As such, New York City records list the building's primary address as 2082 East 41st Street.
And it IS owned by the Flatlands Church of God. And there IS a sign at the location with the name of the Church on it per eyewitness acount in early August 2006.
