Gellidus is an enormous white dragon in the fictional series of Dragonlance novels. He followed Malys from their alien dragon home world, and claimed the island of Southern Ergoth for himself. Gellidus is over two hundred feet long and has snow-white scales with streaks of blue mixed in. Gellidus is also known as Frost.
[edit] Arrival on Ansalon
When Gellidus arrived on Krynn, he flew until he reached Ansalon. When he reached the continent, he was attracted to Icereach because of its cold temperatures. He did bother conquering it, as there was hardly anything to conquer. He instead went to Southern Ergoth, which he took over promptly. He changed the climate from temperate to frigid, freezing the waters, and turning Ergoth into a frozen wasteland. A small section of the western coast was spared this, though, and the residents of Ergoth flocked there for refuge. Gellidus made his lair near Foghaven Vale.
The ogre chieftain Tdarnk, an ally of Gellidus, was given the city of Daltigoth by the grace of Gellidus. Tdarnk and his ogres pledged themselves to the dragon. Gellidus also brought Thanoi, walrus-men, from Icereach to serve him. In order to preserve themselves, white dragons began to serve Gellidus. Among them were Shiver, and utterly loyal dragon, and Glacier, who was the opposite; a schemer and plotter.

After the Dragon Purge, Gellidus joined four others as a Dragon Overlord. Gellidus formed an alliance with Malys and became her consort. However, Gellidus was unaware of the scheming Malys's plot to have Khellendros as her consort. Gellidus was present at the Window of the Stars, the intended place of Malys's ascension to godhood. However, the Heroes of the Heart thwart this and injure Gellidus. He leaves before the fight is finished. Gellidus rejoined the great Red, Malys. She stayed with him until her death during the War of Souls. In the recently released Wizards of the Coast gaming product Price of Courage, Gellidus is slain.
