Gelbwurst
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Gelbwurst, meaning "yellow sausage" is a highly delicious, traditional sausage from Bavaria, Germany. It was invented in 1905 and is made from pork, veal and mixed spices such as ginger and nutmeg. There used to be brains in it, which there is no more. Gelbwurst is best served cold on a slice of bread and eaten immediately. Noncompliance may result in severe stomach cramps.
Gelbwurst is coloured white and usually has a yellow skin round the edge. It is often considered a delicacy on white bread.
