[edit] Good work!

Nice work on Amistad (ship). Do you know anything about this other Amistad/Amitie? RPellessier | Talk 08:28, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for for the kind comment.
To answer your question, no, I'm afraid I don't know much of anything about Amistad/Amitie though my curiosity is piqued. That article also looks like it could use a little revision. --geeman 28 June 2006

[edit] La Amistad revert

I think the revert you made may be in error. See Talladega College; one of the founders was Savery (so logical for it to be "Savery Library") and I think rewording the "is never stepped on" to indicate that it's a tradition, not a statement of fact, should fix things. I'll go ahead add back in what you reverted, but I wanted you to know why I was doing so. scot 21:05, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Here's a link to the webpage of the Savery Library: http://www.talladega.edu/prep_st/sav_lib.htm It lists the tradition that the mural of La Amistad not be stepped on. scot 21:11, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Ah, OK. Thanks for the heads' up, and you're quite right. A little text explaining the "is never stepped on" is appropriate. Those two items in combination made it look like the first was an error because the second seemed an impossibility on its face. Thanks again. -- Geeman 21:16, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
No problem. I almost let the revert stand based on the assumed misspelling, but I decided to see what the article on the college had to say about stepping on the in-floor mural, and then I saw the founder's name. That's why it's good to have more than one person watching an article--I started off my day reverting a dozen link-spams that showed up on my watchlist this morning, and I know I get to the point where I do it by rote. scot 21:27, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Savery is a pretty unfortunate last name for a former slave to have, especially one who would have a library named after him.... Aside from the obvious Savery/slavery thing, it just looks like a spelling error on its own. In any case, it was a good catch on your part. -- Geeman 17:21, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Einstein's Jewish Label

Please can you check out [1] for your comment.bunix 06:51, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know about your comments and for your contributions to the issue. I think you're on the right track as far as the language of the introduction to that article goes. Kudos. Geeman 05:34, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Toyotomi Hideyoshi

I've semi protected the article, this wont stop a regular editor from editing the page. Please warn vandal edits by using {{subst:templatename}}~~~~ of these templates if they continue to ignore the warnings then list them at WP:AIV where appropriate blocks can be provided. Then the page can be left unprotected. Gnangarra 13:48, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. It appears to be User_talk:NekoNekoTeacher who has been using mostly sockpuppets (usually a new IP address every other day or so) to go after that page and several others related to Japanese history. That user's talk page already has a warning on it, and now that the Toyotomi article is protected the sockpuppets problem should stop (for that page, at least.) But I'll keep an eye on related articles for a bit just to see what's up. Thanks again. Geeman 21:38, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

:Please let me hear your opinion. Do you think that the episode of Yi has a big influence on the life of Hideyoshi? Let's start a discussion there. --ShinjukuXYZ 04:52, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

I wish to express our gratitude for your mediation.--ShinjukuXYZ 04:54, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
You're welcome. I hope we can get to some sort of consensus on this issue soon. Geeman 11:52, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your RFM

Since it's been tagged as rejected, the MediationBot has already moved it to archives and it will be deleted soon. Rather than try to clean up and undo that whole process, just submit a new one. Either pick a new title, or add a "2" or "2nd" after the previous title's name, so we can differentiate between the two requests. ^demon[omg plz] 10:24, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the info. Will do (later this weekend....) Geeman 10:27, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WP:SUBST

I saw this edit of yours while on RC Patrol – [2]. Could you kindly review the above mentioned guideline and substitute the templates in this manner {{subst:test}}, instead of placing the template there {{test}}, which is transcluded and puts a double load on server. Regards, — Nearly Headless Nick 08:52, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Ah... the wikipedia learning curve isn't steep but it's very, very long, isn't it? Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Geeman 09:00, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
