Ge languages
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Ge languages (also Je, Ge, Jean, Ye, Gean) are spoken by the Gê, a group of indigenous peoples in Brazil.
[edit] Family division
The language family is as follows:
- Central Ge
- Acroa
- Xavante
- Xerente
- Xakriaba
- Northwest Ge
- Apinaye
- Kayapo
- Kreen-Akarore
- Suyá
- Timbira languages
[edit] Genetic relations
The Ge family is often considered a branch of the still undemonstrated Macro-Ge family. The Macro-Ge proposal looks very promising.
