[edit] Serious positioning issue

This template is an extremely ingenious idea, and undoubtedly a very useful one. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working correctly, because the dot appears in different places in different browsers. I noticed this because someone seemed to have moved the dot on the Eastbourne article about 50 miles inland, and I was just about to correct it back to the coast when I thought to look at it in Internet Explorer. The results are below (in the form of a dodgy MSPaint JPEG, but the difference is clear):

As you can see, apart from an ugly white square showing on my version of IE (a very old version, I admit; I never use it for actual browsing), the dots are in completely different places. Clearly, this is a problem, as it makes the dots somewhat useless in denoting positioning information. The challenge is, how on earth do we make it more compatible!? - IMSoP 16:47, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

This template is making all the Great Britain articles inaccurate. I have yet to see a dot in the right place. I am surprised there has been no major discussion on the difference between IE7 and Firefox positioning, and I expect other browsers are showing different positions too. Should we stop using this template? MortimerCat 01:16, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
