I removed the following comment from the article because it lacked a source. However, it seems to me that something of the sort should be mentioned.

In English, Gay is a slang term for a homosexual person. Therefore the town is often made fun of. Most residents of Gay do not realize that meaning.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.163.65.156 (talk • contribs).
