Gayo is a tribe living in the heights in Aceh Province, Indonesia. They live in 3 regencies: Aceh Tengah, Bener Meriah and Gayo Lues Regency. They also live in several subdistricts in other regencies, such as Serba Jadi Subdistrict in Aceh Timur Regency and Beutong Subdistrict in Nagan Raya Regency.

The Gayos are known for their adherence to Islam.
